Description:Scope:
The GBV Manager will oversee an integrated program consisting of 1) capacity-building for psychosocial and health partners to improve their provision of services to survivors of gender-based violence; 2) coordination and advocacy on gender-based violence issues; 3) school-based prevention activities and 4) Village Savings and Loan Associations which focus on the economic and social empowerment of women at the household level as a means of reducing their vulnerability to violence in the home. S/he will be based in Makamba with frequent travel to Bujumbura and other field sites.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure strong technical and financial management and oversight of GBV and VSLA interventions, including working closely with civil society, government and school-based partners
• Manage a national staff team in two project sites, supporting their professional and career development
• Meet all GBV reporting and communication needs including providing quarterly project reports for donors and responding to periodic information requests
• Play a key role in the development of new GBV projects and the writing of proposals
• Provide leadership in the GBV sector in Burundi with a goal of increasing the dialogue, visibility and technical quality of GBV work at the national, provincial and country program levels

Requirements:
• University degree required (bachelor’s-level minimum, master’s preferable);
• At least two years experience managing a similar program
• Fluency in English and French; strong writing skills in both languages would be a distinct advantage
• Previous staff management experience
