Description:Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a professional to fill the role of National Director, Vietnam. Reporting to the Regional Program Manager, the National Director is responsible for developing the capacity of the Habitat for Humanity Vietnam and its board of directors to fulfill the mission, purposes and goals of Habitat for Humanity in Vietnam. This person will enable sound organizational growth through effective consultation on strategic and operational development. The National Director provides servant leadership to the national organization, its volunteers and staff, and its programs and partnerships. This position is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and involves up to 30% travel.

Responsibilities include:

Vision and Planning:
*Develop and guide the vision and long-term goals of Habitat for Humanity Vietnam, and facilitate the development of annual and strategic plans to achieve both the national and area visions and purposes.
*Integrate national vision into overall Asia/Pacific vision and purposes, allocating on average 20% time for area initiatives.
*Demonstrate and articulate the love and teachings of Jesus Christ and ensure that Asia/Pacific core values permeate the organization at all levels.

Governance:
*Ensure organizational stability and sustainability by building a skilled, committed, and balanced board of directors or other governing body, marked by integrity and upholding the Habitat mission.
*Participate in meetings as an ex officio member, collaborate on policy development, ensure resolutions are implemented, and serve as liaison between the board of directors and the national organization’s staff, affiliates, and partners.
*In consultation with the board (or HFHI) ensure the fiscal, legal and programmatic integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the organization, including oversight of fiscal planning and budgeting, internal controls and external audits, mortgage tracking and statistical documentation, and accurate and timely reporting.

Human Resources and Program Management:
*Recruit, develop, manage, and evaluate personnel to promote the purposes and achieve the goals of the organization, including staff, advisors, and volunteers.
*Develop and implement effective training programs and equitable human resources systems to invest in and retain a skilled workforce.
*Capitalize on opportunities and overcome obstacles to achieve program scale, stability, and sustainable growth goals.
*Oversee program planning, management, and evaluation through new affiliate development and innovative partnerships; implement construction and appropriate technology quality control systems.
*Ensure program stability and the security of capital by securing governmental registration and/or negotiating binding partnership agreements.
*Evaluate, document, and report program results.

Resource Development and Communications:
*Oversee the annual resource development campaigns.
*Diversify constituencies creatively, including students and youth, international visitors, and faith groups.
*Represent the organization and maintain effective relations with stakeholders, including government officials, donors and sponsors, partners, homeowners, and the public at large.

Required Skills:
*Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as international development or relations, public administration, management, civil engineering, or social sciences
*5+ years of successful international experience in the non-profit sector including program management; experience in the region preferred
*3-5 years of financial management/accounting, including budget management and preparation
*3+ years of supervisory experience; excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
*Fluency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Vietnamese language preferred
*Knowledge and understanding of Vietnamese culture, society, laws and customs
*Preferred: experience as a country director; experience in serving on or the development of non-profit boards of directors; experience with fundraising and network of prospective donors; community development experience; familiarity with construction and appropriate technology
