Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to fill the role of Director, Finance and Administration in our area office serving the Europe/Central Asia (ECA) region. Reporting directly to the area vice president for the region, and acting as a member of the area office senior management team, this role directs activities related to finance, administration, internal controls, and operations functions and involves up to 30% international travel. This position will be located in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Responsibilities include:

*Manage area office finance/administration team of 7 staff
*Provide strategic financial input for decision-making in all program areas
*Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with HFHI policies, both at the area office and national organizations/affiliates
*Ensure that internal and external financial and administrative reporting requirements are met in accordance with organizational standards and local laws
*Ensure adequate, timely and accurate reporting and review of the financial activity at the area office and national organizations/affiliates demonstrating trends and comparisons in field performance; conduct financial reviews of the reporting organizations
*Provide on-going advice and consultancy on financial issues to the ECA national organizations/affiliates including accounting, cash flow, systems, procedures, internal controls and policies, development of healthy credit portfolio management practices (mortgage tracking & recovery), etc., fostering progress towards financial sustainability
*Enhance the organizational development of national organizations/affiliates in regards to financial matters; identify and address national staff financial training needs
*Analyze, comment and follow-up on the audit reports of the national organizations/affiliates
*Manage the process of fund transfers to the national organizations/affiliates
*Manage the annual budget process for the area office
*Work with national organizations/affiliates to ensure accuracy of budget submissions
*Support national organizations/affiliates with an effective fiscal planning, monitoring and evaluation process

Required Skills:
*Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA or similar qualification in finance/accounting; Master’s degree in related field preferred
*10+ years of experience in finance, including demonstrated experience with international finance and accounting standards
*2+ years of supervisory experience
*Coaching/consultancy/advisory skills preferred
*Fluent in English; knowledge of additional European languages preferred
*Experience with Sun Systems, Navision or other complex accounting/finance software
*Professional experience in the Europe/Central Asia region and awareness of cultural sensitivity issues
*Must be willing to travel up to 30%
