Workplace Based in one of our field programmes in Afghanistan, DR Congo, Madagascar, Somalia, Southern Sudan, Sudan (Northern States), or Uganda. Starting Date Contract Details January 2010 This position is not currently open, but frequently required in the Field Open-ended contract, 100%, minimum 1 year Closing date If applying, candidates will be considered for the next available open position. Project Overview WatSan projects contribute towards increased access for the beneficiaries to appropriate water and sanitation facilities, in combination with promotion of safe hygiene practices. Responsibilities To effectively manage the water and sanitation project in line with the objectives, budget and timeframe laid down in the current proposal under the overall guidance of the WatSan Coordinator. Qualifications • Higher level qualification in a technical field, preferably in water and sanitation • BSc/MSc in Water, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or Management desirable Experience • 2 years work experience post qualification Medair standard working requirements for the field • Minimum 12 months professional experience in a relevant field • Minimum 3 months overseas work experience • Committed Christians and strong adherence to Medair values • Strong English communication skills (oral and written) • Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions • Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty • Single or married - without children, no dependent children • Successful completion of Medair’s Relief & Rehabilitation Orientation Course (ROC) To apply for this position For full information on this and other Medair work opportunities, please click on the link below and follow the Experienced Relief Worker path: http://www.medair.org/en/work-with-us/opportunities/ We request that all applications be completed on line at www.medair.org.
