Handicap International Belgium currently recruits a
Research Coordinator (M/F) 8 months’ contract, based in Brussels The Policy Unit (PU) coordinates, organizes, manages and implements all matters related to advocacy of Handicap International Belgium. As a member of the PU, the main goal of the Research Coordinator is to coordinate the regular and timely production of high quality reports and to contribute to their dissemination and use in relevant fora. The Research Coordinator plans and coordinates the work to be done by the research team and reports regularly to the Head of Policy Unit. He/she will be involved in operational research work, data analysis and publishing of results but will also liaise with research networks and attend relevant meetings and events. Moreover, the Research Coordinator can be asked to give expert opinions, represent HI or otherwise contribute to relevant events in collaboration with other HI staff members. Your background You have an advanced university degree and a proven professional track record in project management and research, data collection and disability or human rights issues. Your written and oral English is excellent and ideally you have knowledge of other languages such as French and/or Arabic. Deadlines motivate you and you are able to handle numerous tasks simultaneously. You know how to keep the international research team on the same wave-length and are not afraid of coordinating experts. Flexibility is your second nature and you are willing to travel frequently. The contract is a replacement for maternity leave and its approximate duration is 8 months, starting October 5th.
