Contract Details: 100%, 1 year

Project Overview
There are currently 2 main programmes being run in DR Congo from three bases Bunia, Isiro and Dungu; Reconstruction Programme – reconstruction and rehabilitation of health care facilities (2 projects almost finished) and a possible new road reopening and construction/rehabilitation of bridges project which has to be implemented. Medical Programme – involves limited provision of drugs and medical supplies, training and supervision of around 400 health structures in 27 health zones.

Responsibilities
Management of all Construction or Rehabilitation activities for Medair’s DRC programme: to achieve in time all objectives set for the current construction project(s) in the set budget; to ensure and improve methods and standards for internal processes as well as the realization of construction work on the field.

Qualifications
•Construction project management or similar qualification

Experience
•Two years professional experience in similar programmes / organisation
•Experience in site management, logistical planning and team leading
•Experienced civil engineer for structural engineering or road construction desirable
•Good working knowledge of French

Medair standard working requirements for the field
•Minimum 12 months professional experience in a relevant field
•Committed Christians and strong adherence to Medair values
•Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
•Familiar with Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
•Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions
•Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty
•Single or married - without children, no dependent children
•Successful completion of Medair’s Relief & Rehabilitation Orientation Course (ROC)
