Workplace: Based in Bunia, covering project area in Province Oriental, DR Congo

Starting Date: ASAP

Contract Details: 100%, 2 years

Project Overview
There are currently 2 main sectors of intervention that are being run in DR Congo from the three bases Bunia, Isiro and Dungu; Projects in the medical sector – involve limited provision of drugs and medical supplies, training and supervision of around 400 health structures in 27 health zones. Also working with HIV awareness and treatment, malaria prevention and treatment and various specialised groups - for example the displaced and dependants of the military; also involved in epidemic response; projects in reconstruction and rehabilitation of health care facilities and roads.

Responsibilities
Support the Country Director, in the effective planning, implementation, monitoring and management of the Medair DR Congo programme. Line manage the support management personnel in DR Congo i.e. Finance Managers, Logistics Coordinator, Procurement Manager / IT and HR / Admin Manager and Isiro Base Manager.

Qualifications
•University degree and relevant professional experience desirable

Experience
•Experience in people, business and project management
•Working knowledge (oral and written) in French
•2 years management experience

Medair standard working requirements for the field
•Minimum 12 months professional experience in a relevant field
•Committed Christians and strong adherence to Medair values
•Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
•Familiar with Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
•Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions
•Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty
•Single or married - without children, no dependent children
•Successful completion of Medair’s Relief & Rehabilitation Orientation Course (ROC)
