| Description: | The mission of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance is to support communities to play a full and effective role in the AIDS response. Our vision is a world in which people do not die of AIDS. Since 1994, the Alliance and its partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries, reaching millions of people. We are seeking an Associate Director - HIV Best Practice to lead the Alliance in promoting and influencing HIV Best Practice in external fora in a number of key technical areas. The successful candidate will have particular expertise in HIV, TB and Health Systems and will bring a specific focus on community involvement in the delivery of, and the interface with, health systems. The Associate Director will be a member of the Alliance Senior Management Team, contributing to the development of strategy and organisational leadership. S/he will lead a small team of Senior Advisers charged with synthesizing best practice recommendations from Alliance programmes and research, and using these lessons to promote on going programme quality standards both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will be a senior manager with considerable knowledge of health systems, HIV/AIDS and TB programming in developing countries. S/he will have post graduate qualifications in development or public health, and have strong organisational, interpersonal and management skills. We are looking for someone with experience in managing Health Services at a senior level, combined with the ability to represent the Alliance, and its values, at the highest levels.
