Today, child centred community development is at the heart of our programmes with 11million children in 50 developing countries. We are growing and are looking for talented individuals to join our team. The Disaster Management Programme Officers support the development of Plan UK’s disasters and emergencies portfolio as part of the Disasters Management Team. This will include development and management of a significant part of Plan UK’s disasters grants portfolio, and raising the profile and professionalism of Plan UK as a disasters actor. They will work across all areas of the team’s work, including grant management, programme development, and relationship building both internally and externally to Plan. They will also be a resource for the international organisation, providing support to disaster response on a deployment basis. We’re looking for someone with direct experience of designing and implementing disasters programmes with experience of working with institutional donors/fundraisers of disaster management work. Although this post is based in London there will be significant overseas travel. Candidates with experience of raising and managing major donor grants through partners will be of particular interest. As will those with experience in Education in emergencies, Disaster Risk Reduction and Child Protection. Languages, especially Spanish and French would also be a distinct advantage Please note applicants will need to have a valid permit to work in the UK.
