| Description: | Save the Children has been working in Colombia for more than 10 years as part of its successful Latin American Regional Programmes. Our key areas of involvement are Child Protection and Education and we work alongside local partners in both humanitarian and development programming, influencing policy and practice at local, national and regional levels.
Colombia recently completed its Alliance Unified Presence process in Colombia, and is now looking for an exceptional leader to lead the development and implementation o our strategy for the Alliance in Columbia in order to realise the benefits and rights for children.
You will be a credible leader, with the ability to inspire confidence and trust in your vision by internal and external stakeholders alike. With a track record of success in strategic thinking and planning and delivering results, you will need to have stature and confidence, negotiation and representational skills to advocate for the rights of Colombia’s children at the highest levels. Your experience will be underpinned through the successful delivery of large scale programmes, including financial and people management.
You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate the development of a strong senior management team and to recognise and value working in a culturally diverse environment. An experienced leader, able to motivate and develop your team to achieve success. Finally your commitment to our mission, aims and values is essential.
As Country Director, we will also be expecting you to help shape our broader priorities and programmes in Latin America, and to actively contribute to global Alliance policy and practice development.
You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of South America’s socio-politico-economic climate, and an excellent working knowledge of written and spoken Spanish is required for this post in addition to fluency in English.
