Fixed-term contract for two years Salary: £20,827 - £23,721 net pa Based: Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Closing date: 12 noon, Friday 23 October 2009 Christian Aid works to put an end to the scandal of poverty. To make that vision a reality we need passionate, committed and skilled professionals in our finance department. In the DRC, we work with around 30 different partners and have an annual budget of more than £5m. This role is part of the DRC team within the Africa Division, and works closely with the finance department in London. It has responsibility for all Christian Aid finance and administration work in the DRC through offices in Kinshasa, Bukavu and Kindu. It ensures that there are coherent and consistent finance and administrative systems, policies and procedures in all Christian Aid offices in the DRC that fit with our corporate finance model. It also provides financial and administrative training to Christian Aid personnel and partner staff. You will need to be fluent in either English or French, with a good knowledge of the other language. Accountancy and administrative systems and procedures will be second-nature to you. You will have excellent computer skills, and be able to create and use spreadsheets for financial management.
