Internal Auditor
19 Oct 2009 16:28:00 GMT
Deadline date: 08 Nov 2009
MAG (Mines Advisory Group)
logo
Organisation:MAG (Mines Advisory Group)
Location:United Kingdom
Type:permanent
Salary:40-50 (000's USD)
Description:£36,551 - £39,941 (Plus pension scheme)
Manchester city centre based with frequent global travel (at least 50%)
Fixed term, 18 months

MAG is experiencing a period of rapid growth, currently working in 16 countries worldwide with a turnover of in excess of £30 million. Working in a high profile and dynamic humanitarian NGO, supporting communities devastated by the results of conflict, your role as Internal Auditor will be both varied and stimulating.

As MAG has grown, so has the requirement for a robust system of internal controls. In this role, working with the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be MAG’s first Internal Auditor, developing, implementing and managing a global programme of internal audit.

The successful candidate will have the challenge of developing MAG’s internal audit methodology from the planning stage all the way through implementation to reporting to the Audit & Finance Committee. With a high degree of autonomy and professional discretion, you will have the chance to work with MAG’s senior management and embed internal audit within the culture of MAG. This represents a fantastic opportunity for an Internal Auditor to take on a fresh challenge, stretch themselves, and make a real impact to a highly successful, internationally renowned organisation.

Though based in our Manchester city centre HQ, this role also offers the fantastic opportunity to regularly travel to MAG’s life saving programmes across the globe, including Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America.

If you are a fully qualified accountant with previous international NGO auditing experience, would like the opportunity to work in MAG’s various overseas operations, and feel up to the challenge of designing and managing this function, MAG can offer you the chance to really take your career to the next level within an organisation which was co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize.

The starting salary for this role is £36,551. For further information about this role, and details of how to apply, please visit our website at www.maginternational.org by the closing date of Sunday 8 November 2009.

Note: Please note that applicants will need to provide documentary evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK.
