MAG is a humanitarian organisation clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of local communities worldwide. MAG is co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager you will work in a team of Regional Desk Officers and act as the point of contact to overseas staff in your designated programmes. You will work closely with programme staff to support the development of projects. You will provide fundraising, administrative and logistical support to existing projects including budget writing and monitoring. You will also research and write proposals for new initiatives and may be required to undertake programme support visits.

You will be an enthusiastic self-starter with experience of developing and supporting projects. Excellent planning and organizational skills are essential with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also essential for this role. Ideally, you will already have experience in an international NGO environment.

Experience and understanding of technical issues relating to mine clearance are not necessary for this post; more important is your commitment to international humanitarian and capacity building principles. Relevant second language skills would be advantageous. The role will be based in Manchester and will involve short periods of overseas travel.
