Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non confessional and non-profit organization created in 1979.Their vocation is to combat hunger, misery and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working in our International Network. Action Against Hunger is present in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

Action Against Hunger is looking for a PROGRAMME COORDINATOR based in Senegal, Dakar

Objectives

• To follow up programme implementation at technical and financial level
• Follow up of humanitarian indicators at regional level
• Ensure the development of national and regional contingency plans within the framework of WAHRF programme (1 regional, and 8 countries in coordination with mission)
• To develop thresholds for humanitarian interventions in the region according to ACF standards and new emerging context
• To propose possible interventions in the region according to those criteria
• To ensure accurate quarterly reports to donor in progress (narrative and budget)
• Recruitment, selection and follow up of human resources needed.
• To coordinate with other WAHRF organisations in the area.
• Contribute to the strategic dialogue with DFID WAHRF team in Dakar level
• To support the writing up and definition of proposals within the WAHRF framework.
• To follow up project implementation.
• To ensure ACF’s approaches on evaluation, learning and accountability are implemented in the programme.
• Coordination of WARHF team
• Support of regional technical positioning

• Establish strong coordination links with the relevant Regional UN
• To ensure ACF presence in nutritional/humanitarian technical forums in coordination with the Regional representative
• To propose new technical approaches in the region to be implemented
• Capitalisation and facilitate mission sharing experiences

Profile:
• Demonstrated management and supervisory skills
• Strong analytical capacity and writing skills; good communication skills
• Good knowledge of project cycle management
• High level management capacity
• Experience in emergency situations
• Proven interpersonal and networking skills with national and international organisations
• Demonstrated experience in working in West African region in humanitarian aid
• Flexible
• IT: Microsoft tools
• Knowledge of ACF operations, policies and procedures
• French and English fluency
• Five or more years living in a developing country with strong management experience. Three or more years management experience as Head of Mission strongly preferred
• Previous humanitarian experience
• Good knowledge of project cycle management
• Nutrition expert
• Food security knowledge desirable

Remunerative Package:

• Immediate incorporation in a dynamic and growing organization with recognized professional reputation and international projection.

• Retribution: 17700 Euros gross per annum + Extra according to the experience

• Travel costs to and from the mission

• Per Diem

• 25 working days of holidays per year

• Breaks (including travel cost to the reference zone, and 200 Euros to pass the week of break)

• Travel and accident insurance and repatriation on account of the organization.

• Extra per month and per child- Under 18 years old

Requirements:
