c. £17,436 - £25,260 pa Oxford At Oxfam, we tackle all sorts of issues and undertake life-saving projects around the world. It’s an important story to tell. And by harnessing the power of the media, we’re not only able to engage with decision makers, opinion formers and supporters, we can generate widespread publicity – and much-needed funds – for both ongoing and high profile campaigns. In this role, you’ll help our Media Unit to work even more effectively. The role It will be down to you to give our Media Unit the administrative and communications support they need to get optimum coverage for Oxfam. That will include developing and maintaining our Monitoring & Evaluation monthly reports and planning documents, managing and passing on incoming calls from the media, and handling some of the more general media enquiries, including image requests. You’ll need to provide logistical support for press officers travelling overseas, and more generally, set up meetings, establish rotas and order in office supplies. We’ll also expect you to look for ways that we can improve our information systems, and to maintain and develop our Media Unit’s intranet site. What we’re looking for You’ll be dealing with a wide range of contacts so excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, and you should be assertive in your approach. We’ll be looking for strong time management and organisational skills, a willingness to learn and plenty of drive, enthusiasm and initiative. Your computer skills should be second to none, including Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications, along with online databases. And if you have any previous admin experience, so much the better. About Oxfam A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. And it’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. At Oxfam we believe that with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. More than 8,000 people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
