CARE International is one of the three biggest aid agencies in the world. Reaching more than 65 million people in over 70 countries, our aim is to create long-lasting and sustainable change for the world’s most vulnerable people.

CARE International UK (CIUK) is recruiting a Governance Team Leader to head a team which plays a leadership role for CARE International globally, providing technical support for improving the quality and impact of CARE's programmes.

CARE recognises poor governance and exclusion as root causes of poverty across the communities we work with. Governance is a strategic priority area of work for CIUK.

We are looking for a highly competent and experienced people and process manager, with a strong understanding of governance issues in development, and how these apply to our overseas programmes as well as to the UK and global policy arena.

You will have a masters level of education (or equivalent) in governance or a closely related subject, you will provide vision and leadership to the team, and be responsible for overseeing the high quality implementation of the team's portfolio.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the effective stewardship of several major governance contracts which CIUK holds.
